Skool Daze

Here's Macy ready for her first day of school—she started puppy obedience classes today!

Visiting Cousin Hendrix

We took Macy on a little road trip to introduce her to my family, including her new "cousin" Hendrix. He is a four-month old German Shepherd mix.

He is a very sweet handsome lad that recently grew LEGS.

He was pretty excited that Macy came to see him and had fun showing her some of his most beloved toys.

She was afraid of his size and energy level at first, so we kept them separated. Eventually we removed the gate and they played quite nicely together—Hendrix even shared his favorite toys and chewies with her which she really enjoyed!

Eventually it was time to head back across the mountains towards home. Cousin Hendrix sent her home with a new woobie! She was grateful to have it to use as a pillow on the long drive back home. Zzz...

Thank you for the new woobie Cousin Hendrix!!

Family Reunion!

Macy's littermate, Bella, lives in our town and yesterday afternoon the sisters got together for a little reunion! They haven't seen each other for three weeks. The girls didn't seem to be nearly as excited to see each other again as we were for the dogs to be together!

It was neat watching the girls together. Sometimes they'd sit the same way, and sometimes they'd sit across from each other and seem to mirror how the other was laying. Soon they were wrestling and gnawing on each other, much as I am sure they did in the whelping box!

Here's Macy (top) and Bella doing a little bit of wrestling. Bella is just a little bit lighter in color than Macy.

Dangerous Toys

Saw this link a few weeks ago and wanted to share it with you fellow dogs lovers. Please be careful when choosing your dog's toys!

Golden Delight

It's hard to believe that when we first met Macy at only ten days old she looked like a guinea pig. Now at 8 1/2 weeks old, she looks like this! It's astonishing how much they change in such a short amount of time!

Hey Down There!

Here's Smokey taunting Macy in her kennel. He's pretty tough when he knows she can't get him!

Macy's Favorite Things

We try to keep Macy plenty occupied so she won't be so inclined to destroy the furniture, etc. Here are some of Macy's favorite toys...

Mr. Pelican—he also happens to be one of my favorite toys! He has wings that crinkle and a squeaker in his tummy. She likes to grab him by his belly and give him a good shake!

Rawhide bone—not uncommon for her to wake up in the middle of the night and quietly chew her rawhide bone before going back to sleep. Nom, nom, nom...

Eenie, meenie, miney, moe...
which ball would I like for you to throw?

...ALL OF 'EM!

SAY CHEESE!

I've had a rather uncooperative pup when it comes to taking pictures. I try to sit on the floor with her to get a good shot, but she charges the camera...

...and tries to eat the lens.

Once in a while I'll get lucky and snap a good shot or two...

Hopefully she will follow Smokey's example one day and sit still for a pretty picture!

Bunkmates

I think my seven year-old Maine coon, Smokey, is getting closer to befriending Macy. Call me crazy.

A Great Day With Our Watercolor Pup

Today I tried to get some better pictures of Macy so you could see how pretty her coloring is. Her coat is like a watercolor painting, the way her coloring blends from white to beige and into shades of pale gold. I still can't get over how pretty she is! You can really see her delicate eyelashes in these pictures. So gorgeous!

Grace, Macy, and I played out in the yard today. Macy munched on a bone while Grace and I played with her sand. Afterward I pulled both of them around the block in Grace's wagon. Macy was a little worried about the ride at first, but just cuddled up closer to Grace and was content, smiling on much of our journey. I should have taken a picture! After our afternoon outside, both of my girls are pretty worn out—hopefully that means a good night's rest!

Munch, munch, munch...
